You must navigate complex environments filled with guards, civilians, and other obstacles, using skills and gadgets to remain undetected and reach your targets.
Along the way, you must gather information, manipulate your surroundings, and find creative ways to eliminate your targets, all while avoiding discovery and making a clean escape. In addition to the main storyline, it also features a wide range of side missions and challenges that you can undertake, as well as various modes for playing and replaying missions in different ways. It requires an IOI account to access most features.
As expected, the game features a collection of maps, each offering distinct environments for gameplay. From Paris to the streets of Mumbai, these locations provide a variety of settings for Agent 47's missions. The maps are designed with detailed layouts, including hidden paths and interactive elements, allowing for diverse approaches to assassinations. The excess of Dubai, the seclusion of Dartmoor's mansion, and the density of Miami contribute to varied gameplay experiences.
These maps are important to the gameplay, encouraging exploration and observation. The level of detail allows players to learn layouts and understand target routines. Infiltrating a facility in Hokkaido or navigating Marrakesh's markets presents different challenges. However, it can be difficult to master at first, and you need to invest a significant amount of time and effort to become proficient.
The Season of Awakening
In this new update, you can look forward to new challenges designed to test their skills, exclusive unlockable items, and a brand-new Twitch Drop. The season also shines a light on community contributions through Featured Contracts, acknowledges International Women's Day, and welcomes a long-time fan into the contract creation spotlight. Plus, some popular returning events, like the Undying's reappearance and the Berlin Egg Hunt for both seasoned and new players.
A notable addition is the Purple Streak Coin, a new Twitch Drop. To get it, players need to link their IOI and Twitch accounts and watch HITMAN World of Assassination streams for a total of one hour between April 17 and April 30, 2025. This reward acknowledges dedicated players and encourages them to share each experience within the game's streaming community.
Alongside this, new challenges are scheduled, each with unique unlockable rewards. These include a new weapon in the Hanami Hitman challenge on April 17, a stylish suit in the Quack? Quack! challenge on May 12, and a new item in the Bend It Like 47 challenge on May 29. These additions aim to provide players with fresh objectives and customization options.
Featured Contracts, curated by passionate players, highlight the creative HITMAN community. Girl Power, launching on March 27, celebrates female players for International Women's Day, while The Bandits, debuting on May 12, marks the Featured Contracts debut of long-time fan Josthin.
